A Drop in the Ocean.

July 3, 2012

There’s no disaster that can’t become a blessing, and no blessing that can’t become a disaster. ~Richard Bach

Suffering and trials are a part of living in this broken world. On this side of heaven, we will experience heartache, brokenness, trials, tribulations and suffering. Things that seem perfect can be destroyed in a moment. And things that seem that there is no way out can be transformed.

Although pain is a natural part of life, we are given a choice when we experience the storms of life. We can either let it effect us negatively or we can let it move and change us. We can use those unexpected moments of darkness to increase our faith and hope in redemption. Everything given to us has a purpose. Sometimes God has to cut ties for us because we won’t cut them ourselves. Thats what a good and loving God does.

If we dwell only in the negative emotions caused by our circumstance we miss the opportunity to see the blessing. There is always beauty in the breakdown.

Dear friend and believer, my brethren, God has His hands on you. James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect thing comes from above.” I am by no means diminishing what you have lived through or are currently going through. But I do know we are a prized possession of the God of gods.

Nothing given to you is out of His reach.
Nothing you experience is bigger than Him.
Nothing you endure wasn’t approved by Him first.
Nothing you encounter is out of His plan.

I know it’s hard to grasp how God could allow anything bad to happen to us. But maybe the problem isn’t in the bad we encounter but in our eyes. The problem isn’t in the problem itself, it’s in how we see the problem.

His love doesn’t run dry.
His promises aren’t only for the good times.
His unfailing love and unfathomable strength is always available for you.
Always.

Romans 8:18 tells us, “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” Our hearts and souls are, bound to His everlasting love. Troubles never last. What you endure today is nothing compared to the eternity you will experience.

John 16:33 warns us that we will have trials of many kinds here on earth. But it also encourages us to take heart, hold tight to our faith and to take courage, because our Savior has overcome all of our pain and suffering.

In the grand scheme of things….

Your troubles.
Your pain.
Your sorrow.
Your sufferings.

…..they are nothing more than a drop in the ocean of this beautiful life we have been given.
